1. Assumption of Risk
Participation in running events involves inherent risks, including but not limited to physical injury, illness, or other harm. By participating in this RunRank event, you acknowledge and voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation in the underlying race and any related activities. RunRank shall not be responsible or liable for any injury, loss, or damage incurred in connection with such participation.
2. Independent Operation and Non-Affiliation
RunRank operates independently of all race organizers. RunRank is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any race organizer, including but not limited to organizations such as New York Road Runners. All race names, trademarks, and related intellectual property are the property of their respective owners and are used solely for descriptive purposes only.
3. Platform Disclaimer
The RunRank platform and all associated services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. RunRank does not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, nor does it guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any information, including race results or competition outcomes. Participants acknowledge that competition results, rankings, and other information are provided for RunRank purposes only and should not be relied upon for any other purpose.
4. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, RunRank shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your participation in RunRank or use of the platform. In no event shall RunRank’s total liability exceed the amount, if any, paid by you to participate in the applicable event.
5. User Responsibility
You are solely responsible for ensuring that you are properly registered for the underlying race and that you comply with all applicable rules, policies, and requirements established by the race organizer. You are also responsible for the accuracy of any information or results submitted to RunRank. RunRank is not responsible for race operations, timing systems, or the accuracy of official race results.
6. Refund Policy
Unless otherwise expressly stated, all fees paid to participate in RunRank events are non-refundable. RunRank may, in its sole discretion, provide refunds or credits under limited circumstances.
7. Modifications
RunRank reserves the right to modify or update these Legal Terms & Liability at any time. Continued participation in RunRank following any such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
8. Agreement to Terms
By participating in this event, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Legal Terms & Liability, the Event Participation & Competition Rules, and RunRank’s full Terms of Service.
9. Overview of Participation
RunRank provides a separate competition experience layered on top of independently organized running events. By registering for and participating in this RunRank event, you acknowledge and agree that RunRank is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any race organizer, and that your participation in RunRank is separate from your participation in the underlying race.
10. Eligibility and Participation
Participation in this RunRank event requires that you are properly registered for the underlying race and comply with all rules and requirements established by the race organizer. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information in connection with your participation in RunRank, including any information submitted for purposes of competition or result verification.
11. Matchup Structure
Participants in RunRank events are placed into small groups (“matchups”), typically consisting of three runners, based on available performance data and other relevant factors. In certain circumstances, matchups may include a different number of participants, including but not limited to two-person matchups. RunRank reserves the right to make reasonable adjustments to matchup assignments, including the application of time adjustments, buffers, or other modifications, in order to promote fairness competitive balance, and overall integrity of the competition. The participant with the fastest official finish time within a matchup, taking into account any applicable adjustments, shall be deemed the winner of that matchup.
12. Results Submission and Verification
Participants are responsible for submitting their official race results within the timeframe specified by RunRank. All submitted results must correspond to official race results. RunRank reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to verify submitted results using publicly available information, request additional documentation or confirmation, and modify, correct, or reject any result that is determined to be inaccurate, incomplete, or inconsistent with official race records.
13. Public Display of Information
By participating in RunRank, you understand that certain information may be visible to others, including your name, race participation, matchup results, and rankings. This visibility is a core part of the competitive experience of RunRank.
14. Disputes and Final Determinations
Any disputes regarding matchups, results, or related matters must be submitted within three (3) days following the posting of results. RunRank will review such disputes in good faith; however, all determinations made by RunRank regarding matchups, results, disputes, and eligibility shall be final and binding on all participants.
15. Timing and Deadlines
Participants must comply with all submission deadlines and requirements established by RunRank. Late, incomplete, or inaccurate submissions may be rejected at RunRank’s discretion. Only official race results within the applicable event period will be considered for purposes of RunRank competition.
16. Fair Play and Conduct
Participants agree to compete honestly, fairly, and in good faith. Any attempt to manipulate results, misrepresent performance, or otherwise undermine the integrity of the competition may result in disqualification, removal from the event, or suspension from the platform, as determined by RunRank in its sole discretion.
17. Modifications to Event
RunRank reserves the right to modify matchups, rules, event structure, or other aspects of the competition as necessary to maintain fairness, operational integrity, or overall functionality of the platform.
18. Accounts/ Access/ Termination Rights
RunRank reserves the right to suspend, terminate, or restrict access to any participant at its sole discretion, including for violations of these Terms or conduct that undermines the integrity of the platform.
19. Intellectual Property
All content, branding, and materials associated with RunRank are the property of RunRank LLC and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without permission.
20. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located within Pennsylvania.

PRIVACY & DATA USAGE POLICY

RunRank (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy & Data Usage Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the RunRank platform and participate in RunRank events.
By using RunRank, you agree to the terms of this policy.

We may collect the following types of information:
a. Personal Information including Name, Email address, Account or profile information you provide
b. Event & Performance Information including Race participation details, Race results submitted by you, Performance data relevant to RunRank competitions
c. Usage Information including Interactions with the platform, Basic technical data (such as browser type, device, and general location)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
operate and manage RunRank competitions, create matchups and rankings, verify race results using publicly available information
communicate with you about events, results, and updates, improve the platform and user experience, maintain fairness and integrity of competitions
4. Data Source and Verification
Race results and performance information may be: submitted directly by you and or verified using publicly available race results.
RunRank does not claim ownership of official race results and does not maintain or distribute comprehensive race result databases.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information with other participants as part of competition features (e.g., name, matchup, results), with service providers who help operate the platform (e.g., email, hosting), if required by law or to protect the integrity of the platform.
6. Public Display of Information
By participating in RunRank, you understand that certain information may be visible to others, including: your name, race participation, matchup placement, results, and rankings. This visibility is a core part of the competitive experience.
7. Data Retention
We retain your information only as long as necessary to operate RunRank, maintain competition history, and comply with legal obligations. We may retain aggregated or anonymized data for analytical purposes.
8. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights

10. Children’s Privacy
RunRank is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
11. Third-Party Services
RunRank may use third-party tools or services (e.g., payment processors, hosting providers). These services operate under their own privacy policies. RunRank is not responsible for third-party practices.
12. Changes to This Policy

ATHLETE INTEGRITY POLICY

1. Purpose
RunRank is founded on principles of fair competition, honest performance, and respect for all participants. This Athlete Integrity Policy is intended to preserve the integrity of RunRank competitions and ensure that all participants compete on a level playing field. By participating in RunRank, you agree to abide by the standards set forth in this policy.
2. Honest Participation
All participants are required to compete in good faith and accurately represent their performance. Participants may not submit false, altered, or misleading race results, nor may they misrepresent their identity or participate under another individual’s name. Any attempt to manipulate competition outcomes, rankings, or results through inaccurate reporting or deceptive conduct is strictly prohibited. All results submitted to RunRank must correspond to official race results.
3. Authentic Race Participation
Participants must be properly registered for the underlying race and must complete the race in accordance with the rules and requirements established by the race organizer. Participation in RunRank is contingent upon legitimate participation in the associated race. RunRank reserves the right to disqualify any participant whose race participation is determined to be unofficial, invalid, or inconsistent with official race records.
4. Prohibited Conduct
Participants are prohibited from engaging in any conduct that undermines the fairness or integrity of the competition. Such conduct includes, but is not limited to, falsification of results, use of another participant’s race entry or bib, intentional interference with other participants, collusion or coordinated manipulation of matchups or outcomes, or any other behavior deemed by RunRank to be inconsistent with fair competition.
5. Verification and Review
RunRank reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to verify all submitted results using publicly available information, request additional documentation or confirmation from participants, and investigate any suspected irregularities. Participants agree to cooperate with any such verification or review process. Failure to provide requested information or cooperation may result in disqualification or removal from the platform.
6. Enforcement
RunRank may take any action it deems appropriate to preserve the integrity of the platform and its competitions. Such actions may include, but are not limited to, adjustment or removal of results, disqualification from specific events, suspension or termination of participation, and forfeiture of rankings, wins, or rewards. RunRank is not required to provide prior notice before taking enforcement action.
7. Reporting Violations
Participants may report suspected violations of this policy by contacting RunRank at info@runrankleague.com. While RunRank will review reports in good faith, it is not obligated to disclose details of any investigation or its outcome.
8. Final Authority
All determinations made by RunRank regarding participant conduct, eligibility, integrity, and enforcement of this policy shall be final and binding.
9. Modifications
RunRank reserves the right to modify or update this Athlete Integrity Policy at any time in order to maintain fairness, transparency, and the overall integrity of the platform. Continued participation in RunRank following any such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
